Unilever is a British multinational consumer goods company headquartered in London. Founded in 1929, it originally specialised in making soaps and margarines, however, during the second half of the 20th century, Unilever increasingly diversified from being a maker of products made of oils and fats and expanded its operations worldwide. Today, its products include food, condiments, ice cream, wellbeing vitamins, minerals and supplements, tea, coffee, breakfast cereals, cleaning agents, water and air purifiers, pet food, toothpaste, beauty products, and personal care. Some of its leading brands, from a range of over 400, include Lynx, Dove, Persil and Wall’s ice cream. It employs 148,000 people across the world and had a turnover in 2020 of 51 billion euros.
