Established in 1997 after a merger between Guiness and conglomerate, Grand Metropolitan, this British multinational is a major distributor of spirits and the world’s largest producer of Scotch whisky. Diageo makes Johnnie Walker and other household brands under its wing include Smirnoff, Pimm’s Baileys, Gordon’s Gin, and of course the ‘black stuff’, Guiness! With its headquarters in London, it operates in more than 180 countries and produces in over 140 sites around the world. Latest plans involve a $500m investment into Tequila production in Mexico, so growth is very much planned!
