Procter & Gamble (P&G) is an American multinational consumer goods corporation headquartered in Cincinnati, Ohio. The company was founded in 1837 when candle maker William Procter and soap maker James Gamble joined forces to manufacture and supply essential home goods. By1859, P & G’s sales reached $1 million and they employed around 80 staff. Shortly afterwards, during the American Civil War, they won contracts to supply the Union Army with soap and candles which gave their profits and exposure a huge boost. In 2021, the company’s global net earnings amounted to $14.31 billion, and today they employ over 100,000 people. Some of their best known brands include Pampers, Ariel, Herbal Essences, Oral-B and Gillette.
